CES 2024 | Lenovo Legion Tower 5i: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 toting gaming PC launching in April from $1,249
Lenovo has introduced the Legion Tower 5i as part of its extensive CES 2024 showcase. While the company has brought various gaming laptops to this year's Las Vegas-based conference, the Tower 5i is only one of two Legion-branded gaming desktops with the other being the Legion Tower 7i. Please note that there is no corresponding AMD version of either machine, which would have lacked an 'i' suffix.
According to Lenovo's press release, the Legion Tower 5i measures 205 x 360 x 411 mm case, which equates to a 28-litre case volume. Additionally, the desktop weighs at least 16 kg when configured, making it at least 1 kg lighter than the Legion Tower 7i. In part, the Legion Tower 5i's weight can be attributed to its Legion B660 MATX motherboard, which supports LGA 1700 (Socket V) processors up to the Intel Core i9-13900F.
Moreover, Lenovo states that the machine can be configured with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 desktop GPU, as well as 32 GB of DDDR5-5600 RAM, a 2 TB PCIe SSD and an 850 W PSU (90% ES). Furthermore, the Legion Tower 5i will come with the following ports, regardless of the configuration chosen:
Front
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A (5 Gbps)
- 1x 3.5 mm headphone jack
- 1x 3.5 mm microphone jack
Rear
- 1x 2.5 Gigabit LAN
- 3x 3.5 mm audio jacks
- 1x LED switch
- 4x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A (5Gbps)
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A (10 Gbps)
Currently, Lenovo hopes to begin selling the Legion Tower 5i in April 2024. For now, the company has outlined entry-level Eurozone and US pricing, which it has set at €1,599 and $1,249, respectively. Unfortunately, Lenovo has not revealed full configuration details yet for either market.
