CES 2024 | Predator X34 V3: Acer reveals new 34-inch Mini LED gaming monitor for €849
Acer has introduced the Predator X34 V3, a new IPS gaming monitor that builds on the likes of the Predator X34 and Predator X34 V. For context, the Predator X34 V3 is one of four monitors that Acer has brought to CES 2024 in Las Vegas alongside the Predator X34 X, Predator X39 and Predator Z57. Also, the Predator X34 V3 is the cheapest of the bunch by quite a margin.
In its press release, Acer states that the Predator X34 V3 has a 1500R curvature compared to the 1900R curvature of the Predator X34. Theoretically, the Predator X34 V3's increased curvature depth should provide a more immersive gaming experience than the Predator X34, although 1500R is less curved than something like the Odyssey G5, which has a 1000R curvature.
Additionally, the new Predator X34 continues to operate at 3,440 x 1,440 pixels (UWQHD) in a 21:9 aspect ratio. Likewise, its peak refresh rate remains unchanged at 180 Hz. However, Acer has added Mini LED backlights for improved peak brightness and contrast. Surprisingly, Acer is quoting 4% lower DCI-P3 colour space accuracy for the Predator X34 V3 than the Predator X34, though.
Acer will begin selling the Predator X34 V3 in Europe from Q2 2024 onwards. Unfortunately, the company has not provided a specific release date yet. The monitor should retail for €849 though and will contain the following other features:
- 2x 5 W speakers
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x HDMI 2.0
- 1x USB Type-C
- VESA mounts for wall mounting
- Height, tilt and rotation adjustable stand
