Acer has unveiled the Predator X34 X, a smaller alternative to the Predator X39 that the company has also unveiled today. For context, Acer has brought the Predator X34 V3 and Predator Z57 to CES 2024 in Las Vegas too, ahead of their launches later this year. As for the Predator X34 X, it appears to be a follow-up to the Predator X34 V that Acer announced almost a year ago.
On the one hand, the Predator X34 X retains the Predator X34 V's 3,440 x 1,440 (UWQHD) resolution. However, Acer has moved from the latter's 1800R curvature to 800R, a particularly aggressive curvature. Additionally, both monitors have 0.01 ms response times and 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverages with AMD FreeSync Premium support to mitigate image tearing.
On the other hand, the Predator X34 X sports a 240 Hz refresh rate, making it 65 Hz faster than the Predator X34 V. The former is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 as well, which should ensure 50x greater dynamic range and a 4x rise time improvement compared to DisplayHDR 1000 certified monitors. Unfortunately, this also only guarantees 400 nits peak brightness.
Moreover, it is unclear at the time of publication whether Acer has included HDMI 2.0/HDMI 2.1 TMDS or HDMI 2.1 FRL ports this time around; the Predator X34 V delivered up to 1440p and 100 Hz through its HDMI ports. The Acer Predator X34 X will be available next quarter (Q2 2024) in the Eurozone for €1,299, making it the second cheapest monitor that Acer has brought to CES 2024 behind the Predator Z57 and Predator X39.
