CES 2024 | Acer Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition unveiled for 3D content creation
Over the years, Acer has widened its SpatialLabs ecosystem with multiple laptops and monitors. The Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition is the latest entrant to the series. Its hardware isn't anything to write home about, but Acer's software ecosystem should more than make up for it. The laptop can be purchased in March 2024 for €1,999 ($2,187).
The Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition comes with a 16-inch 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) panel with a peak brightness of 380 nits. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB colour gamuts. An Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 drives the display along with an Intel Core i7-13620H. 3D modelling software often requires plenty of RAM; that's why the Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition can be fitted with up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory. 2 TB of solid-state storage is also included.
Unlike Lenovo's ThinkVision 27 3D monitor, the Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition requires users to put on a pair of 3D glasses. Acer's SpatialLabs Go software uses AI to create 3D models out of 2D images, which can then be imported to a wide range of applications, even Unreal Engine. Acer has dedicated two cooling fans to keep thermals in check. For connectivity, there are Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 4.0 ports. Lastly, the Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition is one of the many laptops that replaces the iconic Windows key with Copilot.
