CES 2024 | Acer Predator Z57 lands as new 57-inch 'gaming goliath' with 2,304 Mini LED dimming zones plus full PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X support
The Predator Z57 is one of Acer's largest monitors to date and one that it describes as massive and a 'gaming goliath' in its press release. Shown alongside the Predator X34 X, Predator X34 V3 and Predator X39 at CES 2024, the Predator Z57 is a 1000R curved monitor that spans 57-inches across as its name suggests. In other words, the monitor has a greater curvature depth than something like the Predator X34 V3, which spans 1500R.
According to Acer, the Predator Z57 relies on IPS technology rather than OLED or VA. Additionally, the monitor contains 2,304 Mini LED local dimming zones that provide up to 1,000 nits peak brightness and for which the Predator Z57 is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified. Also, the volume of local dimming zones ensures 98% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and twice the contrast of a DisplayHDR 600-certified monitor.
Moreover, the Predator Z57 outputs at 7,680 x 2,160 pixels (DUHD) in a 32:9 aspect ratio with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports are on hand to provide 120 Hz gameplay on a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X console, while DisplayPort 1.4 and USB Type-C round out the monitor's I/O. Currently, Acer hopes to begin selling the Predator Z57 from Q2 2024 onwards in the Eurozone for €2,399. However, the company has not set a specific release date yet nor shared full specifications and press images.
