CES 2024 | Lenovo refreshes ThinkCentre neo 50a series with new 24-inch and 27-inch AIO models
Lenovo has showcased the ThinkCentre 50a 24 Gen 5 and ThinkCentre 50a 27 Gen 5, a pair of all-in-one (AIO) machines that will be available later this quarter. While the company has not shared a specific release date yet, it has confirmed that the ThinkCentre 50a 24 Gen 5 and ThinkCentre 50a 27 Gen 5 will retail for $799 and $899, respectively. For reference, Lenovo has also revealed the ThinkCentre neo Ultra, details of which we have covered separately.
Seemingly, both new ThinkCentre 50a machines utilise the same underlying hardware, with up to 32 GB of DDR5 SODIMM RAM, 1 TB of M.2 PCIe storage and an undefined Intel Core i7 processor listed in Lenovo's specification sheet. Likewise, both AIOs have a pair of 3 W speakers that support Dolby Audio, as well as a 5 MP webcam with IR capabilities for Windows Hello. Additionally, Lenovo has included Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, plus the following ports:
Side
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (10 Gbps)
Rear
- 1x DC in
- 1x HDMI input
- 1x HDMI 2.1 output (TMDS)
- 1x LAN
- 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A (10 Gbps)
The ThinkCentre 50a 24 Gen 5 and ThinkCentre 50a 27 Gen 5 feature comparable display specifications too, albeit with 23.8-inch and 27-inch panel sizes. Specifically, both displays are IPS panels that output at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, Lenovo claims that the pair also deliver 99% sRGB colour space coverage and a 100 Hz refresh rate. However, the larger ThinkCentre 50a 27 Gen 5 can reach 50 nits higher peak brightness than the ThinkCentre 50a 24 Gen 5 at 300 nits.
