CES 2024 | Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i announced with Intel Meteor Lake and Raptor Lake processor options

The IdeaPad Slim 5i is Lenovo's newest slim laptop with an interesting mix of hardware. One configuration gets you a shiny new Meteor Lake chip, while the other takes you back to Raptor Lake. There are two nearly identical screen configurations, too, for some reason. Otherwise, it is a bog-standard mid-range laptop. Lenovo said it will reveal its price and availability later.

As mentioned earlier, the IdeaPad Slim 5i can be configured with an Intel Core 7 150U or Intel Core i7-13700H processor. What makes the situation even more baffling is the fact that these are entirely different classes of CPUs. Additionally, the iGPU upgrades bought forth by Meteor Lake are significant enough not to overlook, although it is unlikely that it will support the advertised Intel Arc features.

Unlike other IdeaPads launched alongside it, the IdeaPad Slim 5i supports a maximum of 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. It also gets a beefier 76 Wh battery and an FHD camera with a privacy shutter and IR sensor for Windows Hello functionality. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 support is also included.

The IdeaPad Slim 5i features a 15.3-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) IPS LCD screen with a 60 Hz refresh rate, 300 nits peak brightness and 100% coverage of the sRGB colour gamut. Lenovo also lists an alternate 15-inch configuration with the same specs. I/O is about what one would expect on a mid-range laptop, such as two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, a 3.5 mm combo jack, an SD card reader and an HDMI port.
