The upcoming 2024.6 update of Tesla's software brings a windfall of new features or thoughtful enhancements of existing systems.

After Tesla managed to quiet its cabin A/C system significantly to make longer road trips more pleasant, it is now adding another new and thoughtful fan-related feature.

Tacked in the "other updates" section, a new feature of the upcoming 2024.6 software reads that the current A/C fan rotation speed will be automatically reduced when a phone call is received via the car's infotainment system, in order to lower the volume of ambient noise during said call, a rather welcome option.

These are two new Tesla A/C cabin noise solutions that aim to increase passenger comfort, but Tesla isn't stopping here, as it will also redesign the climate panel controls so that the vehicle occupants could more easily pick their comfort settings.

Those with Tesla's Premium Connectivity option, on the other hand, will now have not only the outside temperature displayed in the vehicle status bar, but also the local weather conditions.

"When air quality is poor, your vehicle also shows an AQI symbol and index value," says Tesla, referring to the Air Quality Index abbreviation.

"Tap the temperature on your touchscreen to see details about your local weather forecast, such as the weather condition, highs and lows of the day, and the chance of rain," continues Tesla's new Weather Forecast and Air Quality feature description.

There is plenty more in the Tesla software 2024.6 update, such as YouTube Music or Amazon Music streaming services support, navigating to sub-destinations like a specific airport terminal, or PIN-protected parental controls that can set speed limits and notifications when the Tesla is driven past the offspring's curfew time.
