A Tesla caught fire at the Sheetz supercharging station in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred on July 8, at about 5:45 PM. The model of the vehicle involved is not confirmed but it seems to be a Tesla Model Y.

The Tesla car caught fire at a Tesla charging station in Sheetz, located at 1415 South Market Street, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Although multiples companies and the Upper Allen Fire Department responded to the incident, the car was burnt to scrap.

The detailed report on this incident was posted by the Upper Allen Fire Department on its Facebook page. As of the time of writing this article, the cause of this fire has not been revealed to the general public.

The fire department shut down the street while combating the fire as it made use of a fire hydrant on the opposite side of the road. The fire department stayed on the scene for about 5 hours as the feared reignition might occur.

Judging based on the comments on the post, many of the locals don't like electric cars. Many people are critical of electric cars even though Tesla published a report few months back claiming its cars catch fire 9 times less than the US average for every billion miles driven.
