Xiaomi Redmi G Pro 2024: Gaming notebook comes in a slightly slimmed-down model with Core i7 and RTX 4060 at a lower price
Xiaomi is offering a new gaming notebook under the Redmi brand, or rather a new model variant. The Xiaomi Redmi G Pro 2024 is already available with the Intel Core i9-14900HX, and now the notebook comes in a slightly slimmed-down version with the Intel Core i7-14650HX. It is uncertain to what extent the use of the 16-core processor with a maximum clock frequency of 5.2 GHz will really have a negative impact on gaming, as the GPU is usually the limitation, especially at higher resolutions. The graphics card, namely the GeForce RTX 4060, remains unchanged.
The notebook is equipped with a 16-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a refresh rate of 240 Hz, which are very decent values. Nvidia G-Sync is supported, which effectively prevents tearing, for example. The maximum brightness of the Redmi G Pro 2024 is specified as 500 cd/m², while the sRGB color space is said to be completely covered with with a high degree of accuracy. Here, Xiaomi speaks of a Delta E deviation value of less than 0.4. Regarding connectivity, a Thunderbolt 4 connection is on board, and HDMI and DisplayPort can also be used for image output. There are also several USB-A ports.
In its home market of China, the price is set at the equivalent of around $1000; information on a global release is not yet available. The Xiaomi Redmi G Pro laptops are available for direct import, but in view of its high price, the import fees and the alternatives available, we would advise against a direct import.
