Redmi K70 Extreme Edition launches alongside Lamborghini-inspired Supreme Champion variant
Redmi has just vindicated months of leaks and rumors by unleashing the K70 Extreme Edition as its most "evolved" Performance Demon thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC, augmented with an in-house D1 "display chip" to optimise frame-rates on its 6.67-inch 1.5K 144Hz display.
Then again, it is covered by Xiaomi's Longjing Glass rather than something from Corning. The K70 Extreme Edition also has an 8MP ultrawide-angle camera and 2MP macro shooter to back its rear 50MP main camera up in a vaguely Mix Fold-like camera hump.
The Extreme Edition starts at 2,599 yuan (~$375) with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, but can be spec'd up to 16GB and 1TB - or is available as a 24GB/1TB smartphone in the form of its Supreme Champion Edition.
It has the same custom Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse finish in green or orange as its K70 Pro counterpart in place of the Ink Feather Black, Clear Snow White and Ice Blue of the 'normal' Extreme Edition. Those options are available to pre-order in China from now, with the possibility of international availability strongly hinted at during the major launch event of today (July 19, 2024).
