Star Wars Outlaws video draws criticism but Ubisoft won't delay release date
Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30 (available for pre-order here) and is set to be the first major open-world adventure game in the Star Wars universe. The game was recently criticized for its questionable pricing policy. Shortly before the release, many fans are outraged again. This time it's about a 10-minute gameplay video that was published on YouTube by gaming magazine IGN on July 17.
Fans mainly criticized the graphics and the behaviour of the AI. One user wrote: "10 solid minutes of 'don't pre-order' energy." Another comment read, "How did they make a cool concept for a quest exploring a dead Sarlacc look like you're just wandering around a generic cave doing a glorified fetch quest?
While the opinions on YouTube are overwhelmingly negative, on Reddit however, there are many positive opinions. One user wrote "I should know better and not read the YouTube comments on an IGN video [...] Gameplay looks solid!"
Ubisoft sticks to its release plans
As Wccftech reports, a financial analyst from Bank of America asked whether a postponement of the release date was possible due to the negative comments. Ubisoft responded with a "clear no", but promised to show more gameplay impressions soon.
