Deal | HP Omen 16 gaming laptop with Intel i7-14700HX and Nvidia RTX 4070 slips under $1,350
Most of the better deals we have seen so far for an RTX 4070 gaming laptop involved AMD processors or older Intel 12th and 13th gen models. As we get closer to the launch of the upcoming Lunar Lake processors, prices for the 14th gen Raptor Lake-R are gradually coming down, as well. B&H, for instance, has a decent deal for the i7-14700HX-powered HP Omen 16 equipped with an RTX 4070 that is only $1,349 in limited supply.
Besides the powerful processor with 8 performance cores boosting to 5.5 GHz plus 12 efficiency cores boosting to a maximum of 3.9 GHz and a total of 28 threads, as well as the Nvidia RTX 4070 dGPU with 8 GB VRAM and 140 W TDP, this configuration features 16 GB of DDR5-5600 upgradeable RAM along with a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.
The 1080p resolution on the 16.1-inch IPS LCD display is fairly outdated and the brightness is capped at 300 nits, but at least the panel comes with a decent 100% sRGB color gamut and 165 Hz refresh rate. On top, there is a 1080p webcam with privacy shutter.
Surprisingly, the port selection is missing Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, as it features only a single 3.2 Gen 1 with power delivery and DP modes, 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (one with power delivery), HDMI 2.1 video out, audio and GbE jacks. Wireless connectivity is provided via a Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.3 card. Also included is a 230 W power supply and with the 83 Wh battery, the laptop weighs 5.1 lbs (2.32 kg). As a bonus, B&H offers the Black Myth: Wukong game bundle.
