With CES 2025 rapidly approaching, leaks about products due to launch at the event are picking up the pace. For example, we got to know about Nvidia's entire laptop GPU lineup and Intel's Arrow Lake-based laptop CPU offerings. Now, an upcoming HP laptop featuring both has leaked online.
X leaker @MysteryLupin showed off the HP Omen Max 16. It comes with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275 HX processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 (16 GB VRAM) graphics card, 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. At first glance, it doesn't look very different from its last-gen counterpart (read our in-depth review here), but a closer look at the keyboard reveals shrunk arrow keys and a full Numpad.
Other changes include a slightly larger chassis. Its last-gen counterpart was 10.2-in long, and the new HP Omen Max 16 will be 10.5-in. It will also be slightly thicker at 1.08-in (vs 0.925-in). These changes are necessary to accommodate the larger keyboard and to pack better cooling equipment. If previous HX chips are anything to go by, the Core Ultra 9 275 HX will need all the cooling it can get, as will the GeForce RTX 5080.
