Over the past month, we've seen a handful of next-gen laptops leak. Some, like the HP Omen Max 16, come with an Arrow Lake-HX processor and GeForce RTX 50 series GPU. The new Razer Blade 18 uses the same processor, but its actual GPU remains a mystery. Now, a Geekbench listing tells us about the MSI Raider 18 HX.
Like the laptops mentioned above, the MSI 18-incher comes with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 HX Arrow Lake processor (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores). It is paired with 64 GB of RAM. Because this is a Geekbench AI listing, the GPU isn't directly listed. But one can find it out easily by looking at its JSON output, and it reveals some interesting results.
The MSI Raider 18 HX in question is, for some reason, running an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 from last generation. One can't help but wonder why MSI opted to fit its flagship laptop with older hardware. Then again, a rumour from earlier this year predicted OEMs would mix and match hardware from different generations.
Given this is an MSI Raider 18 HX, options with higher-end GPUs will definitely be available. This should ideally include GeForce RTX 50 series offerings as well. But, this tells us Nvidia still has a lot of Ada Lovelace dies leftover, and they'll be around for a while after Blackwell is official.
