HP has updated the Victus 15, which it plans to offer in Mica Silver, Performance Blue and Powder Pink finishes at launch. For context, we reviewed last year's model (curr. $749.99 on Amazon) powered by Intel's Raptor Lake and Nvidia's Ada Lovelace architectures. Surprisingly, both have returned for a new generation despite the existence of successors.
Specifically, HP will sell the new Victus with Core i5-13420H, Core i7-13620H and Core 5 210H processors from Intel's Raptor Lake family. However, AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS, Ryzen 7 8845HS, Ryzen 9 8945HS, and Ryzen 7 8845H APUs will also be available. Please note that these are all Hawk Point APUs, which AMD has since replaced with Strix Point parts like the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.
Meanwhile, the Ada Lovelace architecture will be represented by the RTX 3050A, RTX 4050 and RTX 4060. With that being said, RTX 2050, RTX 3050 and AMD Radeon RX 6550M options will also be available. According to HP's specification sheet, these GPUs will be complemented by 512 GB or 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage and 8 GB or 16 GB of dual-channel RAM. Incidentally, the latter will be DDR4-3200 or DDR5-5600, depending on the processor chosen.
Conversely, a 300-nit and 144 Hz IPS panel will ship with all configurations. For reference, this 15.6-inch display outputs at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a mere 62.5% sRGB colour space coverage. Separately, although HP has included three USB ports and an Ethernet connection, the Victus 15 misses out on a full-sized HDMI port. Currently, HP expects to begin selling the Victus 15 later this month for $1,199.99 in the US.
