HP has refreshed its gaming desktop line with the Omen 16L. Arriving next month, the Omen 16L will be available for under $1,000 with a whole host of hardware to choose from.

HP has unveiled the Omen 16L, which it bills as the smallest Omen gaming desktop announced to date. Joining the Omen 16 and Omen 16 MAX at CES 2025, among other new Omen devices, the Omen 16L will be available with a choice between modern AMD and Intel processors, as well as a host of dedicated GPU options.

Specifically, HP will sell the desktop with up to the Ryzen 7 8700G (curr. $255 on Amazon) on AMD's side and the Core Ultra 7 265 from Intel's new Arrow Lake family. With that being said, HP has also decided to offer the Core i5-14400 and Core i7-14700 from Intel's older Raptor Lake series. Moreover, the Omen 16 will be configurable with one of five GPUs:

  • AMD Radeon RX 7600 (8 GB GDDR6 VRAM)
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 (6 GB GDDR6 VRAM)
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 (8 GB GDDR6 VRAM)
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 (8 GB GDDR6 VRAM)
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (8 GB GDDR6 VRAM)

Please note that HP will pre-install a 400 W or 500 W 80 Plus Platinum certified PSU, depending on the CPU and GPU combination chosen. With that being said, it appears that all SKUs will receive 90 mm rear, 92 mm CPU and 120 mm front fans, along with Black and Panda colour options. On top of that, HP describes including three USB Type-A ports, two USB Type-C ports and 2.5 Gbit/S Ethernet, plus Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E.

The Omen 16L will be available from the end of February starting at $949.99. Although HP has not revealed full pricing details yet, it has outlined that the desktop will be configurable with 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB of DDR5 (5200/5600 MT/s) RAM and 512 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB of PCIe Gen 4 M.2 storage.
