Nvidia's upcoming GeForce RTX 5000 series launch is just around the corner, with a CES 2025 launch expected for the next-generation GPUs. Previously, we saw a leak from an Australian retail partner suggest a massive $300 price hike for the 5000 series cards, but a new leak on X tips a much tamer $100–150 increase, at least for the RTX 5080.
According to a screenshot of an online retail listing for an Asus GeForce RTX 5080 posted on X, the new GPU will cost in the order of €1,699.95 without sales tax. However, the insider who leaked the price claims that US MSRP for the card will be around $1,349, proposing an increase of around $150 over the $1,199 MSRP of the RTX 4080 that came before it.
Perhaps more interestingly than the new MSRP is the confirmation in the listing that the RTX 5000-series GPUs will introduce DLSS 4 to Nvidia's gaming graphics cards. This was also hinted at before, when Inno3D accidentally leaked a full bullet-pointed list of Nvidia technologies that would be added to its GPU line-up at CES 2025. It's unclear at the moment what exactly the upgrade will entail, but it will likely see the quality and performance get an upgrade over the current-generation DLSS 3.5.
It should also be noted that the graphics card in question is an Asus-branded GPU, so the pricing here may not be entirely indicative of Nvidia's final MSRP, although it should be within $100 or so. Thus, speculation would put the actual price increase at around $50–100 when it comes to Nvidia's MSRP. Still, Asus is one of the bigger hardware vendors around, so this $1,349 is what we can expect to pay for the new RTX 5080 as consumers.
