The packaging material for an upcoming RTX 5080 "Blackwell" GPU has leaked online, and has been confirmed as the real deal. The exterior does not reveal much, but it does drop a major hint at one of Blackwell's most exciting upcoming features: Neural Rendering.

It is hardly a secret anymore that both AMD and Nvidia are gearing up to reveal their next-generation consumer gaming GPU offerings next month. Nvidia is expected to hit the market with its RTX 5000 “Blackwell” GPUs, whereas AMD is expected to make things slightly more interesting with its RDNA 4 GPUs that are expected to carry a rebranding that mimics Nvidia.

As we get closer to their official launch, things continue getting more intriguing. A recent leak has revealed the upcoming box design for Galax's RTX 5080 GPU, which has been confirmed by VideoCardz. From a single glance, the box art looks like déjà vu -  the art appears almost identical to that of its predecessor. However, that didn't stop TechPowerUp from going overboard with their analysis and dissection of the design. Surprisingly, their theory might hold water.

According to the leaked images, the front of the box includes a human face split into two halves - one of which is composed of triangles, while the other half seemingly radiates with an ethereal, bluish light of sorts. TechPowerUp states that this juxtaposition is more than just eye candy, and might indicate Nvidia's rumored Neural Rendering feature for the RTX 5000 GPUs. If true, the triangles symbolize traditional rasterization, while the glowing and mystical counterpart suggests a leap into AI-driven rendering wizardry.

Is it possible that we are reading too much into the lines? Of course, but looking at the breakdown, it does seem to make a lot of sense. All told, considering that the RTX 5080 is less than a month away, we won't have much waiting to do to find out ourselves.
