The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has leaked repeatedly ahead of its CES 2025 launch next January. This time, a full shot of an unsoldered PCB has hit the internet on the Chinese-language Chiphell forum.
While the PCB in the images doesn't have any components installed on it, there are several pieces of information we can glean from the PCB layout. The first thing you'll notice is that the PCB is quite short, suggesting that we will again see Nvidia's now familiar pass-through vapour chamber cooler in the reference design.
Additionally, judging by the number of solder pads where the power connector is usually located, it looks as though the Nvidia RTX 5090 will use the 12V-2x6 power standard, which is capable of delivering up to 600 W of power via the cable alone but has also been the cause of much consternation in the PC community over reliability concerns.
Nvidia is expected to launch the GeForce RTX 5090 GPU alongside the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti early next year, at CES 2025. Previous leaks indicate that the RTX 5090 will be the only GPU in Nvidia's Blackwell consumer line-up to feature 32 GB of VRAM — at least at the outset. The RTX 5090 and 5080 are both expected to be available to consumers sometime in quarter one, although the 5080 will seemingly launch first, with the 5090 following on shortly after that.
