OnePlus is gearing up to release the Ace 5 series in China. This new lineup will initially bring a standard and a Pro model, and among them two, the former is expected to launch in the global market as the OnePlus 13R. Hours before the official Chinese launch event, the company shared the battery capacity and thickness of the phone.
As one of the latest teasers reveals, the Chinese version of the OnePlus 13R will come with a 6,400 mAh battery, which is a big improvement from the predecessor. To look back, the last-gen device features a 5,500 mAh battery, and it measures 8.8 mm thick.
The Ace 5, on the other hand, measures 8 mm, which means the larger battery capacity didn't increase the thickness of the Chinese OnePlus 13R. Instead, it's thinner than its predecessor. The company also shares that the large 6,400 mAh battery of the phone allows the device to offer 23 hours of video playback and still have some charge left (24,000 mAh Anker 737 power bank curr. $102 on Amazon).
This soon-to-be OnePlus 13R was previously confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with some special tuning. The company says that this customization will make the phone offer 8 Gen 3.5-grade performance. Other confirmed specs of the device include a 1.5K display and a Sony IMX 906 primary camera.
Regarding the launch date, the OnePlus Ace 5 series is set to debut in China on December 26. The global launch event for the OnePlus 13 series, on the other hand, is set for January 7.
