The OnePlus Ace 5 might not be able to avail of the same fast charging as its alleged Pro counterpart on its possibly impending launch in China. However, the former might be less far behind in terms of power-efficiency and thermal stability while gaming, according to the typically reliable leaker Digital Chat Station.
The tipster claims to have the device in hand to test its performance in advance, eliciting average frame-rates as high as 119.5 fps in Honor of Kings.
Those values fell to 60.2 fps and 55.2 fps respectively in Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, although they were all judged as far superior to those associated with other devices with the same processor.
Its power efficiency - reported as 5.7W in Genshin Impact and 4.8W and Honkai Star Rail but just 3.38W in Honor of Kings - was also lauded as "far ahead" of the Ace 5's rivals with the same alleged specs.
In this test, they included a flat 1.5K X2 LTPO flat display, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of internal storage and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 - albeit nothing like the "ordinary" version of that chipset found in other Android smartphones, the OnePlus 12 included, apparently.
The 8 Gen 3 in the Ace 5 seems normal enough in its most recent leaks - however, it has "magically modified" augments consisting of "chip-level gaming technology", according to Digital Chat Station.
They helped get the Ace 5 get closer to the Snapdragon 8 Elite in terms of thermal management as well as power-efficiency in Digital Chat Station's testing.
That might bode well for the OnePlus 13R should it debut alongside the global edition of the 13 soon as currently rumored.
