OnePlus is thought to launch its latest flagship Android smartphone alongside a second variant called the 13R. It is now said to be made of even more premium materials than the 13 despite being the more affordable option. A famous leaker also now purports to confirm that it will have the same signature Alert Slider.

OnePlus' next major international event is projected to introduce the 13R as well as the 13 to regions such as North America, India and/or Europe. Like its predecessor (now available for $499.99 with 16GB of RAM on Amazon), the former might be thought of as a version of the former with compromises such as last-gen silicon for top-end smartphones and a lower-res (1.5K) BOE X2 display.

Nevertheless, it is also now backed to have a rear panel made of ceramic rather than the glass or vegan leather of the 13. The 13R's flat frame might also be aluminum with a three-stage physical Alert Slider toggle.

The 13R might also have selling points such as a battery even bigger than that of the 6,000mAh 13 and a dedicated sub-processor to optimize its wireless connectivity in gaming apps.

Then again, this new leak just might refer to the version of the 13R intended for the Chinese market, where it is thought to launch under the name of Ace 5 alongside a series-first Pro variant.

It is thought to challenge the iQoo Neo10 series and Redmi K80 with a "magically modified" version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that may or may not supplant the chipset's existing Leading Version on its impending launch.
