Leak gives first look at OnePlus 13R ahead of official announcement
OnePlus will launch the Ace 5 series soon in China. As the company has just confirmed, this lineup will bring two smartphones. Among the two, the Pro is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the non-Pro model will seemingly feature the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Even though OnePlus doesn't bring its Ace series outside China, the non-Pro variant of the lineup usually gets rebranded for the global market. The last-gen OnePlus 12R (16/256 GB curr. $499.99 on Amazon), for example, is a rebranded Ace 3, and the non-Pro Ace 5 is expected to make an international debut as the OnePlus 13R.
Ahead of the company officially revealing the phones within the Ace 5 series, prominent leaker Digital Chat Station has given the first look at the non-Pro device. As the leaked image shows, the soon-to-be OnePlus 13R will feature a design similar to the OnePlus 13, with the back having an off-center circular camera island.
Just like the higher-end sibling, the leak shows that the Ace 5 will have a triple-camera setup on the back. As for the front, unlike the predecessor, there appears to be a flat display, something that all the recently released flagships feature. It's rumored to be a 1.5K screen with an optical fingerprint scanner.
Digital Chat Station previously reported that the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro will compete to be the cheapest Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship. However, it may not see a global release as the company hasn't released the Pro variant of the series outside China since the Ace Pro.
