The Redmi K80 poses for the camera ahead of its launch in China. It does not look different from the Redmi K80 Pro, but a closer look at the rear cameras shows a significant difference.

The Redmi K80 series will launch in China in less than 24 hours, and while most people are focused on the Redmi K80 Pro, the Xiaomi sub-brand has decided to turn the spotlight on the non-pro model by publishing photos of the device ahead of the launch.

According to the Weibo post revealing the device, the Redmi K80 will have a similar design as the Redmi K80 Pro. However, both phones are strikingly different from that of their predecessors. Instead of the large rectangular camera island of the Redmi K70 series, the Redmi K80 duo have an off-center circular camera island like the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 12R (curr. available on Amazon for $499).

The Redmi K80 is shown in an exclusive color called Xiyue Blue which is actually a light shade of blue. The images show the phone will have a dual finish 2.5D glass back. As seen in the photos, the phone has a smooth/clean upper part and a patterned lower part that begins a few millimeters below the camera island.

The inside of the camera island has a bunch of markings in a circle. These markings are also present inside on the Redmi K80 Pro. However, as you can see in the image below, the Redmi K80 Pro has a telephoto camera, unlike the Redmi K80.

Like its pro sibling, the Redmi K80 will have a Grand Slam 2K display supplied by TCL, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a metal frame with a matte finish, and an IP68/IP69 dust and waterproof rating. Unfortunately, it is not likely to have a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. That, alongside a telephoto camera and a few other features will distinguish it from the Redmi K80 Pro.

The Redmi K80 series will be unveiled in China but there are no reports yet of a global release. The Redmi K70 sort of got a global release under the Poco F6 Pro name (available on Amazon.de for €331). There are rumors the Redmi K80 Pro might make it out of China as the Poco F7 Ultra.
