Xiaomi has now officially presented the Redmi K80 Pro, which starts at ~$510 in China despite featuring a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The Xiaomi Redmi K80 Pro also contains plenty of other high-end hardware too, despite its mid-range price tag.

The Redmi K80 Pro is one of several devices that Xiaomi has introduced today in China. For context, others include the cheaper Redmi K80, as well as the Redmi Watch 5 and Redmi Buds 6 Pro. As expected, Xiaomi promotes the Redmi K80 Pro as containing flagship hardware that belies its mid-range price tag.

For instance, Xiaomi has equipped the device with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which it complements with LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 flash storage and a 6,000 mAh battery. Incidentally, the Redmi K80 Pro can recharge its huge battery at 50 W wirelessly or 120 W via a wired connection. Meanwhile, Xiaomi claims that the device is IP69 certified and contains a heat sink that allows it to run cooler under load than its predecessor.

Moreover, the Redmi K80 Pro finds itself with a Light Hunter 800 primary camera that outputs at 50 MP with a 1/1.55-inch optical format. Added to that, the handset features 20 MP front-facing, 32 MP ultra-wide-angle and 50 MP telephoto (1/2.76-inch) cameras too. The latter only provides 2.5x optical zoom, though. Similarly, it appears that the primary camera is the device's sole optically stabilised sensor.

At any rate, Xiaomi has also installed a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that outputs at 1440p with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the large panel is said to deliver 1,800 nits of full panel brightness or 3,200 nits across some areas when HDR content is active.

Currently, it remains to be seen in what form the Redmi K80 Pro will be available globally. With that being said, a successor of sorts to the Poco F6 Pro (curr. $479.99 on Amazon) seems like a likely candidate, which may actually arrive as the Poco F7 Ultra. For reference, the Redmi K80 Pro starts at CNY 3,699 (~$510) with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, the handset can be configured with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for CNY 4,799 (~$662) or in a dazzling Lamborghini Squadra Corse Special Edition for CNY 4,999 (~$690).
