The OnePlus 13R has been spoken about various times in the last few weeks. Now, 91mobiles and @OnLeaks have joined the party with what they describe as a 'full specifications' reveal. Plenty was already known about the device though, in part thanks to its recent trip to Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Incidentally, the OnePlus 13R may be limited to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage globally.
Reportedly, OnePlus will equip the OnePlus 13R with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 1,264 x 2,780 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate. As 91mobiles note, this appears to be the same panel found in the OnePlus 12R (curr. $599.99 on Amazon). Potentially, a higher peak brightness value could be in order though, as proved the case in October with the OnePlus 13.
Similarly, the pair report that OnePlus will bring across unchanged front-facing, primary and ultra-wide-angle cameras from the OnePlus 12R. However, the 2 MP macro sensor is said to have been swapped for a 50 MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether this will be used for portrait or telephoto optics.
Moreover, 91mobiles and @OnLeaks believe that the OnePlus 13R will adopt a 6,000 mAh battery, which would be a 500 mAh and 9% capacity upgrade over its predecessor. Conversely, they assert that OnePlus will drop wired charging from 100 W to 80 W; presumably, wireless charging is still missing too. With all that mind, the OnePlus 13R is also expected to be about 1.5 mm shorter and 0.78 mm thinner than the OnePlus 12R but 0.47 mm wider. Although an official release date has not emerged yet, the OnePlus 13R will likely line up alongside the OnePlus 13 globally in January 2025.
