The Ace 5 Pro is thought to debut toward the end of 2024 - albeit as a new smartphone exclusive to the Chinese market. That might be a shame, as it is depicted as a version of the upcoming 13R with upgrades such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite in its latest leaks.
Now, the 5 Pro is slated to be even more of a loss to the wider world, as it could be the only device with the 8 Elite and an additional "Fengchi gaming" chip on its launch, according to well-known leaker Digital Chat Station.
The tipster now paints the Fengchi co-processor as practically akin to cheating in games such as Honor of Kings, with an average power consumption of just 3.71W while driving frame-rates of 120.6fps.
The Ace 5 Pro apparently used only 3.92W of power to play Genshin Impact at 60.5fps for an hour, and just 5.44W while running Honkai Star Rail in "ultra-high load" mode.
The Fengchi chip is backed to conserve power on a frame-by-frame basis while also optimizing frame-rates, thereby giving the Ace 5 Pro a potentially deadly advantage over other 8 Elite smartphones - perhaps even the OnePlus 13 itself.
The 5 Pro is also now said to debut with Synopsys S3910 touch-response technology to augment its high-end BOE X2 display.
Nevertheless, the smartphone is tipped to launch as a relatively affordable flagship alternative - much like the OnePlus 12R that currently starts at $499.99 on Amazon.
