Green line issues are nothing new for OnePlus, and the same applies to many manufacturers that offer phones with an AMOLED display. However, it seems that OnePlus has had enough of them. As the brand has just announced, it now has a new "worry-free" solution. The company aims to tackle this display problem through three steps, one of which involves offering "unmatched" display technology.
OnePlus says that the AMOLED displays that its phones feature will have an "Enhanced Bonding Layer." The company explains that this layer uses PVX edge-sealing material, which acts as a barrier. This barrier will help lower the moisture and oxygen penetration, eventually enhancing the screen's lifespan.
Next, the company says that it is conducting rigorous quality checks of the AMOLED displays that the OnePlus phones come with. There are more than 180 tests that are said to simulate extreme real-world conditions. With these, the brand aims to minimize the risks of green line issues to "an industry low."
Lastly, OnePlus has announced that it will offer a lifetime warranty for all of its smartphones, including the old models, for green line issues. That is, even if the phone is out of the regular warranty, you will be eligible for a display replacement if green lines appear on the screen.
Worth noting this isn't the first time OnePlus has addressed green line issues. The company has previously offered discount vouchers to select users in India who were affected by this display problem. However, if the company stands by its latest announcement, OnePlus users may indeed stay "worry-free" in this regard (512 GB OnePlus 12 curr. $778.99 on Amazon).
