Xiaomi replaced the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus (curr. $379.49 on Amazon) with a direct successor some time ago in China. However, it will not be offering its replacement internationally until December 9, where it will arrive alongside the Redmi Note 14 and Redmi Note 14 Pro in India. As a result, the company is sharing a new set of teasers on social media that highlight various hardware features like Light Hunter 800 and 50 MP telephoto cameras.
Recently, Xiaomi implied that the global version of the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus would feature worse water resistance than its Chinese counterpart. Specifically, it made out that the former would launch with IP68 certification like its predecessor. By contrast, it sells the device in China as one of the few smartphones to be IP69 certified. Incidentally, not even the Xiaomi 15 or Xiaomi 15 Pro are IP69 certified.
In fact, Xiaomi's microsite for the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus still reads as if the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus is only IP68 rated against particle and water ingress. It has now clarified that the device will be sold with IP69 certification globally though, which it claims makes it 'designed to handle the extreme'. Setting the marketing aside, this should mean that the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus is able to withstand even a trip into hot water or a fight against pressurised jets without sustaining any damage.
