Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Last-minute hardware changes to remedy shortcomings
Now that the originally planned early launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in January has fallen through, the company is reportedly rethinking a certain aspect after several test models, which has been met with incomprehension and criticism from leakers such as Digital Chat Station. For weeks, he has been providing us with constant news about the development of the ultimate Leica camera flagship for 2025.
The company is not only compromising on the camera compared to that of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, but battery size appears to not have been a major focus in development to date, as Digital Chat Station again emphasized just a few days ago. Since the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro already boast battery capacities of 5,450 mAh and 6,100 mAh respectively, the 5,700 mAh of the current Xiaomi 15 Ultra test model would be a disappointment, at least among Chinese observers.
And this is exactly where Xiaomi appears to have made a change to the hardware configuration shortly before mass production, as Digital Chat Station announced in a cryptic post on Weibo today. Plain text then follows in the comments to this post. Accordingly, a befitting battery capacity for the best Xiaomi flagship of 2025 can now be expected. How big the battery will ultimately be is not yet known, but it will likely reach the capacity level of the Xiaomi 15 Pro.
