Asus is gearing up to show off what they’re calling the world’s lightest Copilot+ PC, adding a new Zenbook model focused on being incredibly portable while having long battery life. The upcoming laptop, which Asus says takes cues from nature and minimalism, supposedly lasts up to 32 hours on a single charge.
This battery claim suggests that the laptop could be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X platform, which is famous for sipping power instead of guzzling it. Other devices with similar specs, like Lenovo's ThinkPad T14s using the Snapdragon X Elite, have achieved 21 hours of battery life in testing. That's a bit shy of Lenovo's 24-hour promise, but nonetheless, it still sets a new record.
In the race for ultralight laptops, Asus is up against tough competitors like LG’s Gram series and Fujitsu’s Lifebook UH-X line, which offer laptops under 1 kg without skimping much on performance.
Exact specs, pricing, and the laptop’s real weight will remain secret until Asus’s “Always Incredible” launch on January 7, which coincides with CES 2025 in Las Vegas.
They’ll also stream the event worldwide for international audiences.
