Asus seems to be trying to get ahead of hardware leaks and rumours by simply leaking its own products ahead of the official announcements, just in the form of teasers. We previously reported on an upcoming Asus ROG Strix laptop that will be launched at CES 2025 with some striking design features.
While Asus previously gave us an idea of what the laptop will look like and teased a CES 2025 launch, the hardware company recently revealed the release date for the new gaming laptop. According to the announcement, Asus will reveal its latest ROG Strix laptop on January 6 at 8 PM Pacific Time (UTC -8). While CES 2025 will officially start on January 7, Asus will seemingly launch the new laptops during the pre-event media briefing. Along with the announcement, Asus also launched a microsite with a countdown to the official reveal of the next-gen laptops.
We also firmly expect to see Nvidia unveil and release the RTX 5000 series laptop and desktop GPUs, with the RTX 5080 reportedly coming to market first. Hence, this ROG laptop will likely launch with RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 GPUs at first, with the 5070 Ti and 5070 launching later in the year. Regardless of which GPUs the new ROG Strix laptops launch with, past leaks indicate that most of the RTX 5000 series GPUs will be a significant upgrade over their predecessors.
