OnePlus has launched its new Ace series smartphones, the OnePlus Ace 5 and the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro, in China. The company’s latest Ace 5 series smartphones come as a successor to the Ace 3 and Ace 3 Pro smartphones, which debuted last year in China. OnePlus packs flagship-level features in its latest Ace 5 series smartphones.
First, let's talk about the Pro variant. The OnePlus Ace 5 Pro is powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which is paired with an Adreno 830 GPU. OnePlus offers three storage and two memory options; it's equipped with 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256, 512, or 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage with no room for storage expansion. The device runs Android 15-based ColorOS 15 out of the box. However, there’s no word on software support from the company.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Pro features its in-house-developed Fengchi Gaming Core technology, which unlocks native 120 fps gaming at 1080p resolution. Gamers will surely appreciate the OnePlus for adding this technology. OnePlus also added a “double ice core VC” cooling system into the Ace 5 Pro, which works with a unique chip air duct design and aerospace-grade aluminum framing. There’s also an under-screen graphite heat dissipation film for keeping the smartphone cool during extended gaming sessions.
The gaming smartphone has a 6.78-inch flat LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels, a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Moreover, the panel is protected by Crystal Shield Glass and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. For optics, the Ace 5 Pro has a triple rear camera array at the back consisting of a 50 MP Sony IMX906 main camera with OIS support, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro sensor. There’s a 16 MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats.
The company has opted to use a 6,100 mAh battery that supports 100 W wired charging. Sadly, there’s no wireless charging support here. The phone measures 161.7 x 75.7 x 8.14 mm (HWT) (6.36 x 2.98 x 0.32 inches) and weighs 203 grams (0.44 lbs).
The Ace 5 features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 6,415 mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the Pro variant. The vanilla variant has the same display and camera specs as the Ace 5 Pro. The phone also supports native 120 fps gaming. Unfortunately, there’s no gaming WiFi chip included here.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Pro is available in five memory options in China: 12 GB + 256 GB, 12 GB + 512 GB, 16 GB + 256 GB, 16 GB + 512 GB, and 16 GB + 1 TB, priced at CNY 3,399 (roughly $465/€450), CNY 3,699 (roughly $505/€490), CNY 3,999 (roughly $550/€530), CNY 4,199 (roughly $575/€555), and CNY 4,699 (roughly $645/€620). It comes in purple, black, and white color options. The Ace 5 Pro will be available starting December 31 via Oppo’s online store in China.
The Ace 5 starts at CNY 2,299 for the base 12 GB + 256 GB model and comes in titanium, black, and celadon colorways. It’s now available via Oppo’s online store in China.
