The MediaTek Dimensity 9350 is now thought to debut as a direct equivalent for Qualcomm's supposedly upcoming Snapdragon 8s Elite. Both are chipsets allegedly pitched at the next generation of premium mid-range handsets. The former might be picked up by OnePlus in order to make that brand's next affordable battery powerhouse smartphone.

The Snapdragon 8s Elite has recently leaked as a supposedly upcoming chipset for new flagship killers such as a successor to Xiaomi's Civi 4 Pro. As if not to be outdone, MediaTek is now linked to the upcoming release of a corresponding SoC to target the same section of the Android smartphone market.

The "Dimensity 9350" does indeed seem like a new intermediate tier between the last-gen 9300+ and MediaTek's current 9400 flagship on paper. Its specs have yet to be released, yet the legendary tipster Digital Chat Station has hinted that it might be good enough for OnePlus to use in an upcoming premium mid-range smartphone.

This putative device is rumored to have a plastic frame in order to keep its asking price low - however, it could make up for that with a huge ~7,000mAh battery. Accordingly, its display might fail to keep up with the compact trend, although it might have the popular 1.5K resolution.

Accordingly, those specs might make for a worthwhile successor to the OnePlus Ace 3V - which, in turn, could form the basis of new Nord-series devices for the global market.

In the meantime, the Nord 4 is discounted by 25% to €449 on Amazon's German store.
