New Xiaomi phone with Snapdragon 8s Elite tipped to feature a small screen

While not all the recently released Snapdragon 8 Elite flagships have made their way to the global market yet, it seems that Chinese manufacturers are already gearing up to introduce Snapdragon 8s Elite phones. As one of the recent reports from Digital Chat Station suggests, Xiaomi could be among the very first manufacturers to offer a smartphone featuring the SoC.

More specifically, Digital Chat Station reports that one of the upcoming Snapdragon 8s Elite smartphones will have a dual camera on the front and "image co-branding." Both of these pieces of information suggest that the report is about the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro.

For reference, the Civi line from Xiaomi is known for having dual cameras on the front. As for the "image co-branding" part, the Civi 4 Pro was the first in the lineup to feature Leica lenses, and the successors are also expected to have Leica-powered rear camera setups.

Getting back to Digital Chat Station's report, the reliable Weibo tipster shares that the phone will have a relatively small screen. Looking back, the Civi 4 Pro features a 6.55-inch screen, and it's possible that the screen size of the phone in question is around 6.36-inch or smaller.

Digital Chat Station adds that the screen of this Snapdragon 8s Elite phone will have a 1.5K resolution and be equidistant quad-curved. There's no word on when the phone may be released, but if it's indeed the Civi 5 Pro, it could launch in the global market as the Xiaomi 15 Civi.
