Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 last year as a more affordable alternative to the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Snapdragon 8s Elite is set to succeed it this year, and a new leak has now revealed some info on the upcoming sub-premium chipset.
As shared by leaker Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8s Elite is set to offer performance comparable to, but not quite matching, the Snapdragon 8 Elite's. Supposedly, the Snapdragon 8s Elite will record a score of around 2 million on AnTuTu. That should see it perform better than several Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones while still being about 20% worse than Snapdragon 8 Elite phones.
If the Snapdragon 8s Gen was anything to go by, the Snapdragon 8s Elite will likely outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the CPU side but offer worse GPU performance than the last-gen flagship chipset. Reportedly, the Snapdragon 8s Elite will not feature the new Oryon cores on the Snapdragon 8 Elite but will instead sport a Cortex-X4 prime core and A720 cores, much like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Wide adoption is touted, with companies like Xiaomi, Honor, iQOO, and OPPO all said to have Snapdragon 8s Elite phones in the works. These devices are tipped to launch sometime in April, so it's likely Qualcomm unveils the Snapdragon 8s Elite in March or April.
