Snapdragon 8 Elite is Qualcomm's latest flagship chipset. It is powering many flagship smartphones including the OnePlus 13, Xiaomi 15, and more. Now we have a new leak regarding the Snapdragon 8s Elite, which is expected to be a cost-effective alternative to the flagship processor.
In March, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. This processor brought high-end performance and was made for upper mid-range smartphones like the POCO F6. While its performance was below the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it was on par with the previous-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Hence, Qualcomm is expected to follow the traditions and bring the Snapdragon 8s Elite to power the sub-flagship phones of next year.
At the time of writing, Qualcomm has not revealed any details regarding the chipset. However, a new leak from reputable tipster Digital Chat Station has surfaced online revealing some details of the Snapdragon 8s Elite. The tipster suggests that the Snapdragon 8s Elite with the model number SM8735 performs better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, it is weaker than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is the last-gen flagship processor. If this turns out to be true, then the Snapdragon 8s Elite might be a minor upgrade from the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
Additionally, the tipster says that the first batch of smartphones with this chipset is expected to be released in April. These phones may also bring batteries with capacities of around 7,000mAh.
