Casio has launched a new G-Shock G-Steel GST-B400 series smartwatch in Japan, the GST-B400CX-1AJR. This is the first model for the Chinese New Year, celebrating the Year of the Snake.
The GST-B400CX-1AJR features a diamond pattern on the watch face, band and buttons, mimicking snake skin. Plus, the “eternal snake” motif, resembling the infinity symbol, is shown on the packaging. This GST-B400 model is a smartwatch, with Bluetooth connectivity allowing you to pair the device with your phone. Here, you can download the Casio Watches app to access features like reminders, phone finder and automatic time adjustment. The wearable also offers world time across 38 cities, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a battery level indicator and a double LED backlight. On top of this, solar charging is used to extend the battery life, though the estimated runtime is not provided.
You can now pre-order the Casio G-Shock G-Steel GST-B400CX-1AJR watch in Japan for ¥ 61,600 (~$410). In other countries like the US, you can import the model via third-party retailers at Chrono24, where the wearable is currently priced at $471, before shipping. Other models in the GST-B400 series, like the GST-B400D-1AJF, can be purchased via Amazon for around $345.
