Rumors indicate that the hotly anticipated Casio G-Shock DW-5000R watch will not launch in some regions until 2025. It has been suggested that the DW-5000R-1AJF would be available in Japan before the end of November or on December 1st. However, Casio has yet to officially announce the launch of this watch, so its Japanese release date remains unclear.
Now, rumors from Great G-shock World, citing online forums, hint at a January 2025 release for the DW-5000R watch in the UK. This has been linked to a cyberattack on Casio in October, which has already delayed the launch of other models. Many features of the DW-5000R were revealed by a manual leak in Japan; the English version of the manual has also now appeared on the brand’s international site. Tools include the Super Illuminator LED backlight, a fully automatic calendar until 2099, an alarm and a stopwatch. While the model seems to lack solar charging, it can run on a CR2016 battery for up to five years.
International pricing of the Casio G-Shock DW-5000R is unknown, but the model is expected to retail in Japan for ¥33,000 (~$214). For context, the G-Shock Move DW-H5600 smartwatch with Bluetooth connectivity, heart rate sensor and solar charging has a $299 RRP in the US, though it is currently available for $170 at Amazon.
