The Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Master Sapphire Gold has been launched in China. This is the first smartwatch from the brand to feature sapphire crystal and gold components, making it a particularly luxurious model.
The Watch Ultimate Design Sapphire Edition has a transparent sapphire bezel with 18K gold bars and 24K ion gold plated characters on the watch face. There is also a gold crown and buttons, and the titanium alloy bracelet features gold elements. The wearable has the same round 1.5-inch AMOLED screen as the Watch Ultimate Design Master Gold Edition model, though it comes with exclusive watch faces. The HarmonyOS-powered wearable has similar features to its predecessor, such as two-way Beidou satellite messaging, an ECG app, temperature sensors and support for diving activities up to 100 m (~330 ft) deep. Plus, the wearable has UWB, allowing the watch to intelligently unlock your car on approach, assuming you have a compatible model. With typical use, it is expected to run for up to 14 days on a single charge.
Huawei’s new Watch Ultimate Design Master Sapphire Gold has a CNY 23,999 (~$3,315) RRP. This makes it more expensive than the Watch Ultimate Design Gold, which is priced at CNY 21,999 (~$3,040). It is unclear whether or when the model could launch in other countries like Germany, where the older Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Gold sells for €2,999, and the basic black Watch Ultimate is currently available at Amazon for €599.
