The Garmin Venu 3 and vivoactive 5 smartwatches are receiving a new stable update, version 12.10. The release arrives around two months after its predecessor, version 11.16, which brought bug fixes relating to incident detection and crashes when users started an activity.
The change log for version 12.10 first notes that Garmin has improved the pool swim rest screen and alert tones, though it does not explain what changes have been made. There is also a new feature for the Venu 3 and vivoactive 5: Garmin Strength Coach. This tool has recently started rolling you to more models, having launched a few months ago for watches like the Fenix 8 (curr. from $999.99 at Amazon). These are personalized strength training plans similar to the older Garmin Coach for runners. Users can input their goals, target muscle groups and available equipment to tailor the program to their needs.
On top of this, the stable firmware comes with updates for GCM Translations (version 2.23) and Golf Course DB (version 1.04). In a post on the Garmin Forum, the company confirmed that the software has reached at least 50% of users; it is unclear when the rollout will be complete. You can download the version 12.10 update either via Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile.
