Several Amazfit Balance smartwatch users have shared early feedback on the new AI Food Log tool, which is currently in beta testing. On social media, testers have discussed the accuracy of the AI food detection from uploaded images, as well as the user experience. Plus, customers have revealed new information about the feature.

Beta testers of the new Zepp app Food Log feature with AI detection tool have shared early feedback and insights. Zepp Health launched a beta test for the food journal in September for users of the Amazfit Balance smartwatch (curr. $169.99 at Amazon).

At the time, it was revealed that Food Log would allow users to log food items by uploading images. An AI algorithm analyzes the picture to determine what the food is and estimate its nutritional value. Now, users have started to share the results of their testing on social media. Several Balance smartwatch owners have noted that the AI detection is impressively accurate, only requiring minor modifications via text prompts. They also indicate that the tool is easy to use and that the overview of your carbohydrate, protein and fat consumption is useful.

One tester revealed that users can set personal goals relating to their food intake. Another customer shared an image that showed tips from Zepp Health about how meal time can affect sleep and digestion. Suggested additions to the feature include a log of previously uploaded and identified foods, as well as enhanced modification tools. The general consensus is that this is a promising start, with users excited to see future developments.

Unfortunately, Zepp Health is no longer accepting applications for users to test the Food Log feature. Instead, customers will have to wait until the tool is released publicly. The company has yet to announce when the food journal feature will roll out to users of all smartwatches. Presumably, it will arrive in a future app update that will follow the recent major refresh with version 9.0.0.
