Garmin improves GPS feature in new stable smartwatch update
Garmin is rolling out stable software version 6.11 to the Lily 2 and Lily 2 Classic smartwatches. The wearable launched at the start of 2024, billed as a smaller, stylish model. The beta 6.xx testing cycle has been particularly short, with a similar update rolling out to a limited number of users earlier in November.
Software version 6.11 brings changes to the Indoor walk activity with Move Alert 2.0. Plus, the performance of the Connected GPS feature, which allows the smartwatch to use GPS information from your smartphone, is said to have been optimized. Garmin has resolved issues relating to the HIIT and Dance activities and has ironed out several bugs in the UI. On top of this, there are general stability improvements and an update for the Sensor Hub (version 32.22).
According to a post on the Garmin Forum, Lily 2 Series software version 6.11 has already reached at least 50% of users; the company has not indicated when the rollout will be complete. You can download the update for your Lily 2 or Lily 2 Classic via the Garmin Connect Mobile app or Garmin Express on your computer. The Lily 2 Active smartwatch also recently received a public update, software version 3.02, bringing a range of bug fixes to the wearable. The Garmin Lily 2 smartwatch is currently reduced from $249.99 to $199.99 at Amazon.
