Amazfit announces new Zepp OS 4 update for smartwatch
Zepp Health has announced the November OTA Release for the Amazfit Cheetah Pro smartwatch. This is a Zepp OS 4 update with a series of new features and improvements for the wearable.
The release notes state the November update brings a refreshed Zepp OS keyboard, including letters, numbers, symbols and emojis, which should allow users to reply to messages faster. There are two new workout modes: Ski Mountaineering and Dog Walking. The latter lets you log the route and time spent on the walk. For strength training comes a new Action Quality Assessment, said to provide tailored feedback on your training. On top of this, Readiness Insights are now available for all users. Previously, this feature was only available for Aura subscribers. Your Readiness score indicates your physical and mental recovery based on recent sleep, HRV and body temperature data. Plus, the heart rate algorithm has been enhanced for more stable measurements and to reduce outliers in the data.
The Amazfit Cheetah Pro November OTA Release is currently rolling out to a limited number of users. According to a post on the Zepp Health Discord, a wider global release will begin on December 4th. However, it is unclear how long it will take for the update to reach all users. The Amazfit Cheetah Pro, which typically retails for around £219.00/€249.90, is currently reduced for Black Friday at Amazon in various countries, including the UK (now £149), the Netherlands (now €199.90), France (now €199.90), and Germany (now €179.90).
