The Lenovo Legion Go dropped to a new record-low price. Ahead of Black Friday, the gaming handheld with Ryzen Z1 Extreme has been slashed down to $472.97, which is a hefty $227.02 discount from what it generally goes for.

Black Friday is around the corner, but the Lenovo Legion Go has already dropped to a new all-time low price. This Ryzen Z1 Extreme gaming handheld with 512 GB of storage is down to $472.97 on Amazon, which is lower than the previous record-low price of $499. So, with this deal in place, you are getting a decent $227.02 discount from the regular tag.

Of course, recent rumors have pointed out that AMD is gearing up to launch the Ryzen Z2 series at the coming CES 2025 event. Soon after the unveiling, major manufacturers like Asus and Lenovo are expected to offer new gaming handhelds featuring the next-gen handheld APU lineup. That's likely why the first-gen Legion Go is seeing such hefty discounts recently.

Regarding the Ryzen Z2 series, the Z2 Extreme is expected to feature the Radeon 890M. In our gaming benchmarks, this RDNA 3.5 iGPU could offer up to 18% better performance over the 780M that's found in the Z1 Extreme. While that's a noticeable jump, the upcoming high-end models featuring the next-gen APUs may see a decent price bump as well.

Take the recently launched OneXFly F1 Pro, for example. The top-end configuration featuring the Radeon 890M iGPU starts at $1,339. There's a cheaper option available at $1,099, but that comes with the Radeon 880M. These prices are quite high when compared to what the Z1 Extreme handhelds are currently going for.

As for the gaming handhelds with the Ryzen Z2 series, recent reports suggest that there will be three variants, and the models with the top-end Zen 5 APU are likely to see a noticeable price bump. So, in terms of value, the current discounted Z1 Extreme handhelds, such as the Legion Go, may still be the better choice.

When it comes to the main highlights of the Legion Go, its large 8.8-inch QHD+ screen, detachable controllers, and a stable built-in kickstand are the standout features. You can learn more about the gaming handheld from our comparison review video that's attached below.
