The Miyoo Flip is edging closer to an official release. Previously known as the Miyoo Mini Flip, the long-awaited clamshell gaming handheld cuts a much smaller figure than its main rival in an early pre-release video.

Various sources have been insisting that the Miyoo Mini Flip has been coming soon for a while. For reference, a promotional video was posted online towards the end of last month, as what appears to be retail packaging. Incidentally, the latter suggests that the device will actually arrive as the Miyoo Flip, not the Miyoo Mini Flip.

At any rate, someone has now published a short video in which Miyoo's long-awaited clamshell gaming handheld is compared with the well-known Anbernic RG35XX SP (curr. $71.99 on Amazon). Ultimately, the Miyoo Flip appears to share the same core functionality as the RG35XX SP. However, it does within a noticeably more compact footprint.

Additionally, Miyoo has moved away slightly from the design of the Game Boy Advance SP, which Anbernic copied wholeheartedly with the RG35XX SP. For instance, the Miyoo Flip features a pair of joysticks, although it remains to be seen how comfortable this will be to use. Unfortunately, it still remains unclear whether Miyoo will begin selling the Flip before the end of the year.
