Sony will reportedly launch PlayStation Portal refresh ahead of rumored PS5 gaming handheld
Just a few days back, a Bloomberg report suggested that Sony is working on a gaming handheld that can locally play PS5 games, and now, a new rumor is hinting that the PlayStation Portal is getting a makeover. More specifically, this report claims that the steaming handheld will soon be available in black.
For reference, Sony released the PlayStation Portal last year, and since then, the company has already offered a 30th-anniversary edition of the steaming handheld, which comes in grey (Legion Go curr. $472.97 on Amazon). The original, on the other hand, comes in white, matching the colorway of the regular PS5 and PS5 Pro.
As for the report about the black PlayStation Portal, it comes from Dealabs reporter Billbil-kun, a reliable tipster with a solid track record. This report comes right after the site claimed that Sony is preparing to reveal the black Pulse Elite Headset, Pulse Explore Earbuds, and DualSense Edge controller. So, as it stands, it appears that the company is seemingly readying up a whole new lineup of products that will be offered in black.
Getting back to the black PlayStation Portal, it will reportedly have the same price tag as the original. That's a piece of good news because the 30th-anniversary grey edition costs more than the regular variant, coming at $219.99 instead of $199.99. The launch is reportedly set for December 3, 2024, and given that the said date is around the corner, you won't need to wait long to see whether this report stands true or not.
