Popular Roguelite shooter now free on Epic Games Store over Black Friday
Black Friday is right around the corner. With that in mind, the Epic Games Store has decided to give away another game for free, having outlined its plans to do so last week. To recap, the storefront most recently discounted Beholder, which ran into some playability issues for some owners.
This time, Epic Games has included only Brotato in its latest giveaway, which will drop to $0.00 at 16:00 UTC today. For reference, developer and publisher Blobfish Games describes Brotato as a 'top-down arena shooter roguelite' game with the following narrative:
A spaceship from Potato World crashes onto an alien planet. The sole survivor: Brotato, the only potato capable of handling 6 weapons at the same time. Waiting to be rescued by his mates, Brotato must survive in this hostile environment.
In short, Brotato should run on pretty much any PC that can run Windows 10 and beyond. According to Blobfish Games, the game requires 4 GB of RAM, 200 MB of storage and a GPU that supports at least OpenGL 3 and has 128 MB VRAM. Seemingly, almost any CPU can be used; Blobfish Games describes a '2 GHz' CPU as being required.
Incidentally, while Brotato typically costs just $4.99, it has achieved an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rating from over 80,000 reviews on Steam. Likewise, critics and gamers rate the game highly on Metacritic. Please note that Brotato will be free to keep indefinitely in your Epic Games library, but only if you download it before 16:00 UTC on December 5.
