A new and very unusual wristwatch is now available for pre-order. A relatively large deposit of around $300 is required to pre-order the Dsky Moonwatch. Total price is around $828. Shipping is free worldwide. With such a model, Apollo Instruments is likely to be targeting fans of space and space travel. At first glance, the wristwatch looks like a pocket calculator, which it ultimately is, but also offers much more. Both visually and in terms of functionality, the Dsky Moonwatch is based on the Apollo Guidance Computer, which was used on the Apollo space missions. It gave the astronauts access to various information and enabled them to carry out certain calculations.
An OLED screen is installed, which is a 14-segment scratchproof and anti-reflective annunciator display. An ATSAMD2I MO processor is on board, while the SRAM is 32 kb in size. Charging and programming take place via USB. A battery life of up to 24 hours is advertised. External sensors and actuators can be connected. I2C and SPI are supported.
The wearable can be programmed and used with Arduino, MakeCode and CircuitPython. Thanks to the integrated GNSS module, which provides simultaneous reception of up to four L1 GNSS systems, the clock can be used for navigation and waypoints are supported. A stopwatch, timer and alarms can also be used directly.
